The clock chimes midnight, the fireworks go off, you grapple with your pre-appointed midnight grapplee, sing ancient Scottish songs and scream with joy at the start of a new year; the first day of three hundred and sixty five that will see you slimmer, fitter healthier and wealthier [...]

About joining the military, Brian Cox says openly that he always knew he wanted to be in the some branch of armed service. Originally, he says, he wanted to fly fighter jets. However, a heart murmur would prevent him from becoming a naval aviator.
He came to this conclusion:
“Well, if I can’t fly airplanes, then I’ll jump out of them,” he says.
If you ask Rosa Koenig why she joined Air Force ROTC, her answer is simple: “I love the military life; I love the discipline and feel more at home in this atmosphere…I basically grew up in the military.”
It’s a Wonderful Film, Not a Christmas Flick

Every year around this time there are a handful of films that air relentlessly from now until December 25. Most of them are classics like A Christmas Carol and White Christmas. A few hilarious ones with the likes of A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation (my fave). However, there is [...]

One of the greatest fixtures of mine and my sister’s childhood was a lanky browned-haired girl whose mission in life seemed to be to never outgrow childhood and to make surreptitious fart jokes as long as she lived. Let’s call her Toots. Calling her Jane would make more sense [...]

Doing it Yourself
I recently moved into a new apartment. The place is nice but it’s a labyrinth of white walls. Despite the flair provided by my grandmother’s donated couches (think floral patterns-that-only-a-British-senior-citizen could love), until about a week ago, the place gave off a vacuous, vacant vibe.
I thought I could get used to white walls. I thought, if [...]
Notions of Promotion
Many months ago we at the Lemon Life commissioned a promotional video. Something short, simple, that featured our brand and left people wanting more.
Fellow Lemon Lifer Ryan Paterson was recruited for the job and he set out to make The Lemon Life’s first advertisement.
We supplied Ryan with a logo file and an idea. He came [...]
Finding the Write Words
I don’t mean to be nitpicky. I really don’t. Call me rigid but there are a few common English mistakes that I find practically intolerable. “It’s “means “it is”. Your cool? Only if the writer was interrupted before typing…Your cool new bicycle is looking radical. To my horror and dismay, in recent days these errors have reared their fowl noggins [...]
This Heart’s On Fire
With over 5,000 hits on YouTube our very own Lemon Lifer James Windsor is about emerge from the relative obscurity of his College Street abode. A testament to the power of the interweb, James’ cover of Wolf Parade’s ‘This Heart’s On Fire’ has caught a lucky click from two New York lovahs interested in featuring [...]
