Letter from the Editor: Lazy Days
Welcome to August, arguably my favorite month of the year. I find August to be the perfect way to wind down your summer. There are those however, who find August to be a bit of a drag. The heat gets to the point where doing anything outside seems difficult and the air becomes stuffy making you want to stay inside and do nothing in the cool breeze of the air conditioning (or in front of a fan depending on your means).
Knowing that August brings with it these dog days of summer, The Lemon Life presents our Lazy Days edition for your viewing pleasure. We thought that we would present you with some commentary on the late season blahs; how to beat them, or embrace them depending on your circumstance.
To start the month off I figured I would share with you one of my favorite lazy day activities. Since starting The Lemon Life 3 months ago, we have been tracking our progress on Google Analytics, a very helpful tool that keeps track of our viewership numbers, among many other seemingly useful stats. One of my favorite things to look at on Analytics is what keywords people are Googling to get to The Lemon Life.
While most of the keywords that lead to the site are names of our contributors or article titles, there is the occasional oddball gem that makes us chuckle. Here are some of the best ones to date:
• “Can a relationship survive if one person doesn’t love the other”
• “I was smart in high school but don’t feel smart now that I’ve graduated”
• “Rubber boots puddles”
• “Sit at my computer making life plans”
• “Sometimes you know it from across the bar”
• “Unrefined idea specialist” (this is my favorite)
The list goes on and on, and I can, and have, spent many hours looking through the various statistics presented in an effort to better understand our audience. My only hope is that the individuals who were searching for answers were able to find some solace on our site. After all, that’s what we’re here for: to help you navigate the maze that is post-grad life.
Here’s wishing you a great August full of some not-so-Lazy Days,
Jon Collins
