To Our Readers,

At the heart of The Lemon Life is the understanding that we are the children of a very privileged culture. A culture that has educated, sheltered, and indulged us while we pursue an extended youth.  We explore the world and expand our minds with adventures and graduate degrees and endless internships to build ‘life experiences’.  In almost any other country in the world, youth and all the wonderful experiences it allows, is cut tragically short.

As we wrap up June and prepare to launch our ‘Summer’ issue, we also begin the first of what we hope will be many Lemon Life charitable campaigns. The Goal is simple, we want to have at least 1000 fans on Facebook by September 1st, 2009. The incentive is even more simple: For every 5 new fans we recruit we will donate $1 to Right to Play.

For those of you unfamiliar with Right to Play, it is an international organization committed to making sure children in disadvantaged areas around the world have access to the kinds of things that make a childhood fun.  They create sports and play programs in areas of the world where play is just not a priority.  Right to Play programs improve the health of these children, help them develop important life skills and promote peace in communities that might only know war.

We invite you to explore their site and ours, learn about their organization and help us raise a little money for them by becoming a fan of The Lemon Life on Facebook, and asking your friends to do the same.
